Oh Dear

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile but there is just nothing spectacular happening to write about.

The biggest doings going on around these parts is the gigantic tree we are in the midst of taking down.  The tree guys were here last week for two and a half hours but had to quit.  Not only was it too hot and humid for what they were doing, but it was also their quitting time.

I was able to take some pictures and will continue taking them when they come back.  That won't be until we dry out.  We have had rain almost every day since they were here and the ground where the tree is, is very soft.

Other than that, it has been very quiet but it's pretty sad when the highlight of my days is a big tree being taken down.

Hey--taking down a big tree is a thrill around here. We all sit outside in lawn chairs and watch the Monkey Guy climb up to the top and start his sawing away and the guys below, letting the limbs down slowly with a rope. Just a note: If you pay them to grind out the stump, they don't take away the sawdust and wood chips--you gotta do that yourself, sooooo, see if they will clean up for another 20 bucks or you will be left with a huge pile of mess.

Judy ~ Our guys use a bucket to go way up and once a limb is sawed it gets thrown to the ground. The tree is at the back of our property so all they are doing is cutting it down. We take the small limbs to the township dump and the larger ones get cut into logs for a friend to haul away free of charge. The stump that will be left will provide a hopping spot for the squirrels to sit on while they eat nuts.
