He Couldn't Stay Away

Half the NASCAR teams started testing Monday at Daytona. Junior isn't scheduled to test until next Monday. However, that didn't keep him away from the track and being with his new teammates. Here he is enjoying a laugh with Jeff.

It is so good to see Junior relaxed and having no monkey (TE) on his back this year. He was interviewed for SPEED TV even though he didn't get into his car. He also visited his old 8 team and was photographed (many times) chatting with Tony Gibson. I hear Tony was thrilled that he stopped by. He should be.

Junior made a comment about the fact that it is so different being in Daytona this year as compared to last year, saying that he is no longer working at a place where he was the boss's son. He also alluded to the fact that he is not weighed down with any major decisions this year.

And something that made me feel a little better is the fact that Jimmie Johnson said by Junior being there Monday meant a lot to him and his teammates. He said it showed a lot of effort on Junior's part that he is solely committed to driving above and beyond the call of duty. Well I should hope so. And thank you, Jimmie, for finally letting me know that you are glad Junior is on your team.

Now, go get 'em boys!

It is soooooooo nice not hearing blah blah blah about "what about Junior???" and what his next decision will be. I haven't seen him this chill since he was a full time Busch Series driver.

Tiredawg ~ Yes it is nice. And so refreshing not to have to listen to it every blessed day.
Now it's someone else's turn.

Thanks for your sympathies Cheyenne, I appreciate them. If you check out my archieves, for December 19, 2006, there is a poinsetta card that Auntie Ina did last year.

Is Daytona on already? Where the heck have I been?
